HOUSTON, Sept 27 (Reuters) - Shell Oil Co shut an alkylation unit for repairs at its 329,800-barrel-per-day (bpd) joint-venture refinery in Deer Park, Texas on Sunday, according to a notice filed with state pollution regulators.
The unit is expected to restart on Friday afternoon, according to the notice filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Shell is repairing a bank of heat exchangers suspected of allow material to leak into cooling tower water.
The Deer Park refinery is a 50-50 joint venture between Mexican state oil company Pemex and Shell, the U.S. unit of Royal Dutch Shell Plc.
