MOSCOW, Oct 24 (Reuters) - The Russian economy will grow by two percent in the fourth quarter of 2009 in quarter-on-quarter terms, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin told Vesti 24 television channel in an interview aired on Saturday.
'Today we are seeing that the Russian economy has started to grow, the recession is over,' Kudrin said. 'In the fourth quarter we are expecting two percent growth compared to the third quarter.'
Data last week showed the economy grew a seasonally adjusted 0.6 percent in the third quarter, quarter-on-quarter. In year-on-year terms, gross domestic product (GDP) contracted 9.4 percent, after a slump of 10.9 percent in the second quarter.
