SYDNEY, Nov 23 (Reuters) - Australian stocks are set for a
flat start on Monday as concerns linger over the strength of a
global economic recovery, worries that sent Wall Street to its
third straight session of losses at the end of last week.
Stock index futures stood down 7 points at 4,694 points, a slim 8.2 point premium to the 4,685.8 point close in the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index on Friday.
In corporate news, building materials firm James Hardie reported a half-year loss, hurt by a strong Australian dollar, but predicted underlying full-year earnings to meet the top of market forecasts.
Among scheduled events, National Australia Bank Chief Executive Cameron Clyne gives a speech to a business lunch.
New Zealand's benchmark NZX 50 index stood 0.2 percent higher at 3,121.5 in early trade.
