SYDNEY, Dec 14 (Reuters) - Australia's Woodside Petroleum Ltd plans a capital raising involving institutional and retail investors and will make an announcement on Monday, it said in a statement.
It requested a halt to the trading of its shares.
The Australian Financial Review newspaper said on Monday the raising could be more than A$2.5 billion ($2.28 billion) to fund an ambitious plan to expand liquefied natural gas (LNG) production.
