WELLINGTON, Dec 14 (Reuters) - New Zealand retail sales were
flat during October, Statistics New Zealand said on Monday.
The data confirmed figures released ahead of schedule last Wednesday, after Statistics NZ said figures in a separate release could have been used to calculate the retail trade numbers.
* Monthly sales were flat with rises in restaurants, accommodation and department stores offset by falls in clothing, supermarkets and petrol.
* Core sales up 0.5 pct with higher food sales offset by weakness in auto sales and services.
* Total retail sales trend rising since February 2009, following a 13 month period of decline, but rate of increase has slowed in recent months.
The figures represent percentage changes. Previously advised figures in brackets.
