
The lira was trading at 1.518 against the dollar on the interbank market from Friday's close of 1.519. The yield on the Aug 3, 2011, benchmark bond fell to 9.26 percent from Thursday's 9.32 percent, and the main stock index rose 0.35 percent to 50,138.45.
GLOBAL MARKETS
The U.S. dollar neared a three-month high against the euro on an improved outlook for the U.S. economy and amid year-end short-covering, as investors buy securities to close open positions.
Asian shares rose, led by technology companies, after strong earnings from their U.S. peers last week. Oil prices fell, paring Friday's 1 percent gain.
DEBT STOCK
The Treasury is due to release data on the central government's debt stock for November (1500 GMT).
TOFAS
After acquiring Chrysler, Tofas' owner Fiat of Italy begins feasibility tests for the production of a new commercial van for the U.S. market at its Turkish plant, Milliyet reported. Fiat runs Tofas in a venture with Koc Holding.
