NEW YORK, Dec 29 (Reuters) - ABC News said on Tuesday that
2009 consumer confidence is the worst in the poll's 24
year history.
The ABC Consumer Comfort Index fell to -44 in the week ended Dec. 27 from -42 the prior week, with a yearly average of -48 for 2009.
The index first posted a record low of -54 in the week to Dec. 1, 2008, and again in the week to Jan. 25, 2009. It has not seen positive ground since March 2007.
