UBS INVESTMENT BANK
UBS Investment Bank said James Paris will join the Swiss bank's leveraged finance group as a managing director. Paris, based in New York, most recently was head of the paper and packaging group at Barclays Capital and formerly worked at Deutsche Bank in Chicago.
BNY MELLON
BNY Mellon Wealth Management, building out sales and portfolio management in the Southeast U.S., added two managing directors of sales in Florida and Georgia. Garrett Alton, formerly of Merrill Lynch and GenSpring Family Offices, will be based in Atlanta. Timothy Goering of Seaside National Bank will work in BNY's West Palm Beach, Fla., office.
HUDSON HOLDING CORP
Hudson Holding Corp, parent of broker-dealer Hudson Securities Inc, added three new independent members to its board and named Knight Capital Group co-founder and former CEO Kenneth Pasternak its chairman. The other directors are John 'Jack' Mascone of Seaport Group LLC and John C. Shaw Jr, former longtime president of Jefferies Group.
MERRIMAN CURHAN FORD GROUP
Merriman Curhan Ford Group hired two senior equity research analysts covering technology companies: James McIlree, formerly of Collins Stewart and C.E. Unterberg Towbin; and Scott Searle, who has worked at S Squared Technology, SG Cowen, Dain Rauscher and UBS.
JANUS CAPITAL GROUP INC
The company appointed Richard Weil as its new chief executive to succeed Tim Armour, effective Feb. 1. Prior to this, Weil was PIMCO's chief operating officer.
ROYAL BANK OF SCOTLAND PLC
The bank named Ganesh Rajendra as head of asset and mortgage-backed strategy for Europe and Asia. Most recently, he was head of advisory in the structured products business at Henderson Global Investors.
HORIZON ASSET MANAGEMENT INC
The U.S. private investment firm named Douglas Kramer as its chief executive. Kramer was a former partner at Goldman Sachs.
RATHBONE BROTHERS PLC
The company, which provides discretionary fund management and wealth management services, appointed Mike Webb as the chief executive of Rathbone Unit Trust Management, replacing Peter Pearson Lund. Prior to this, Webb was the head of business development for Hermes Fund Managers.
