SYDNEY, Jan 11 (Reuters) - Australia's Santos Ltd said on Monday it was in talks to sell an equity stake in the Gladstone liquefied natural gas export project.
Santos has previously said the project will cost about A$7.7 billion to build and have a production capacity of 3.5 million tonnes a year in the first phase.
Santos has a 60 percent of the project. Petronas, Malaysia's national oil company, owns the remaining 40 percent.
