WASHINGTON, Jan 22 (Reuters) - U.S. Senate Democratic leader Harry Reid still hopes to hold a vote next week on the nomination of Ben Bernanke to a second term as Federal Reserve chairman, an aide to Reid said on Friday.
Another Democratic aide said, however, it remains unclear if there will be the needed 60 votes to clear procedural roadblocks against Bernanke.
Aides said Reid was expected to issue a statement shortly on Bernanke's nomination.
