HOUSTON, Feb 12 (Reuters) - U.S. cash crudes differentials weakened Friday as front-month West Texas Intermediate futures plunged but strengthened against second-month WTI.
Poseidon sour sold for $3.10 a barrel under WTI , down 30 cents. Mars sour traded 20 cents weaker at $3.20 a barrel under the screen.
Southern Green Canyon sour, long weaker than Mars and Poseidon due to quality issues, has dealt stronger recently, selling for $2.90 and $2.85 under WTI Friday.
Traders cited WTI time spreads for differential moves generally Friday but could not explain the changed relationship between Mars, Poseidon and SGC. Operators did not respond to queries. For other cash crude deals, see.
The March-April WTI spread narrowed to 37 cents from 44 cents Thursday as March WTI lost $1.15 to $74.13 a barrel. April Brent lost $1.22 to $72.90.
Alaska North Slope crude gained 25 cents a barrel to trade for 25 cents above WTI.
Buyers cut prices for California crudes $1.05 to $1.15 a barrel.
