SYDNEY, Feb 15 (Reuters) - Australian stocks are set to open
lower on Monday after Wall Street dipped on Friday with the
outlook for a global economic recovery clouded by debt troubles
in Greece and tighter bank lending in China.
Share price index futures fell 0.4 percent to 4,516.0, a 46.1 discount to the underlying S&P/ASX 200 index . The benchmark index rose 0.2 percent on Friday, finishing the week firmer after better-than-expected results from top miners BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto.
Those results have raised hopes for the string of reports due this week, with top companies CSL Ltd, Foster's Group Ltd and Qantas Airways Ltd among those announcing half-year profits.
BlueScope Steel, Australia's biggest steel maker, kicks off the week's results on Monday.
New Zealand's benchmark NZX 50 index slipped 0.2 percent to 3,073.6 in early trade.
