SYDNEY, Feb 15 (Reuters) - Australian hospital operator Healthscope has ended talks to buy an aged-care business, the firm said on Monday, after media reports that key shareholders had opposed the plan.
Healthscope said in its half-year results statement it would continue to review growth opportunities, including in the aged-care sector, but it gave no reason for ending the talks.
The Sydney Morning Herald named the aborted acquisition target on Monday as Arcare, with 1,300 aged-care beds.
