The Mortgage Bankers Association releases Weekly Mortgage Market Index for the week ended March 5, versus the prior week, 7 a.m. (1200 GMT.) The mortgage market index read 629.9 and the refinancing index was 3,054.3 in the previous week.
Commerce Department releases wholesale inventories and sales for January, 10 a.m. (1500 GMT). Economists in a Reuters survey forecast inventories to have risen 0.2 percent versus a 0.8 percent drop in December. Sales are expected to have risen 0.7 percent compared with a 0.8 increase the prior month.
Treasury Department issues monthly budget for February, 2 p.m. (1900 GMT). Economists in a Reuters survey forecast a $222.0 billion deficit compared with a February 2009 budget deficit of $194.86 billion.
