HOUSTON, March 16 (Reuters) - Motiva Enterprises LLC reported a leak in the hydrocracker at its 220,000 barrel-per-day refinery in Norco, Louisiana, on Monday, according to a source familiar with refinery operations on Tuesday.
'It was a very minor leak, very small,' said the source.
Motiva was expected to have repaired the unit on Monday, possibly shutting down for the duration of the repair.
In a report filed with state regulators, the company said it had a release of benzene, hydrogen sulfide and propane on Saturday.
No further information or status was available, the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality said.
Motiva is a joint venture between Royal Dutch Shell and Saudi Aramco.
A Shell spokesman said he couldn't comment on operations of units.
