* Says does not intend to end JV
* Says not in talks regarding Maoling gold project
March 19 (Reuters) - Canada's Mundoro Capital Inc said it received a letter from its Chinese partner, suggesting the termination of the Maoling gold project and liquidating the joint venture company, citing environmental and drinking water regulatory issues in China.
The mineral exploration company said the letter was in response to a January report it submitted to government officials on the impact of gold mining on water sources in Maoling.
Mundoro said it does not plan to terminate the joint venture and liquidate the joint venture company.
'We intend to continue reasonable efforts to engage relevant Chinese and Canadian government agencies on the matter. It is unclear if our efforts will be successful,' it said in a statement.
Mundoro said it is no longer in active talks with any party regarding participation in the Maoling project and is currently reviewing alternatives with its Chinese legal counsel.
