HOUSTON, March 26 (Reuters) - Valero Energy Corp on Friday reported that a wet gas compressor tripped in a gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracking unit at its 325,000 barrel per day (bpd) Port Arthur, Texas, refinery, according to a filing with Texas pollution regulators.
The filing said low lube oil pressure tripped the compressor, and steam was added to reduce potential for visible emissions. The problem began shortly before noon on Friday and ended at about five hours later.
