SOCIETE GENERALE
The French bank's U.S. equipment finance unit hired Henry Duncan, most recently the chief credit officer for CIT Group Inc, as deputy head of risk. Duncan will be based at the Jersey City, N.J. office of SG Equipment Finance USA and report to Nathalie Fradin-Depauw, its chief risk officer.
PUTNAM INVESTMENTS
The money management firm re-hired Paul Heffernan, most recently at fund of hedge funds manager EIM Management (USA) Inc, as Northeast director of sales for Putnam Global Institutional Management. He will report to Joseph Phoenix, head of global institutional management for Putnam.
TROIKA DIALOG
The Russian investment bank has named Will Hammond, previously head of Russian international and domestic equity sales at Deutsche Bank, as global head of equity sales. Hammond, to be based in Moscow, will join the bank in late April.
MARKETAXESS HOLDINGS INC
The electronic trading platform operator appointed Paul Ellis as head of MarketAxess Europe, effective April 12. Ellis joins from CreditTrade Inc and replaces Steve Gallagher, who will move into a consulting role.
RELIGARE CAPITAL MARKETS
The investment banking arm of Religare Enterprises Ltd has hired Leila Reddy as a director of oil and gas research in the London equity research team. The financial services group also named Mark Cartlich, who joins from Nomura , as a director of infrastructure research in London.
DBS GROUP
Southeast Asia's biggest lender DBS Group has hired Morgan Stanley's Tan Su Shan to head its private bank.
AMERICAN INTERNATIONAL GROUP
American International Group Inc named Henry Miller, chairman and co-founder of boutique investment bank Miller Buckfire & Co, to its board, according to a company statement.
BANK OF AMERICA CORP
Bank of America Merrill Lynch has hired Chad Karpes to head its bond syndicate. Earlier this week, Karpes left Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) where he acted as bond syndicate head for four years, starting first with ABN AMRO until that unit was acquired by RBS.
Separately, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management hired Nick Booth as a business development director. Booth joins from Newscape Capital Group and will be based in Jersey.
CLAYTON, DUBILIER & RICE
The private equity firm named former Procter & Gamble Co Chief Executive A.G. Lafley as a special partner.
FIDELITY INTERNATIONAL LTD
The firm named Ben Waterhouse as the head of UK wholesale sales. Waterhouse was with Legal & General Investment Management for the last 11 years.
CARLYLE GROUP
The private equity firm has hired Robert Essner as a senior adviser to its Global Healthcare group. Essner was formerly the chief executive of pharmaceutical company Wyeth.
