HOUSTON, May 24 (Reuters) - The U.S. government will 'absolutely' bring enforcement actions against BP Plc due to the giant oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the head of the Environmental Protection Agency said on Monday.
'Absolutely there will need to be fines and enforcement penalties levied,' EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson told reporters on a conference call. 'There are certainly going to be opportunities for fines and penalties.'
