LONDON, May 29 (Reuters) - Liberal Democrat Scottish Secretary Danny Alexander has been appointed Britain's new chief Secretary to the Treasury following the resignation of David Laws, the prime minister's office said on Saturday.
Laws resigned on Saturday over a series of parliamentary expense claims made for renting rooms in houses owned by his long-term partner.
