Commerce Department releases May housing starts and permits, 8:30 a.m. (1230 GMT). Economists in a Reuters survey forecast a 650,000 annualized rate versus 672,000 in April. A total of 630,000 permits are expected in May compared with 610,000 in the April report.
Labor Department releases the May Producer Price Index (PPI), 8:30 a.m. (1230 GMT). Economists in a Reuters survey forecast a 0.5 percent drop compared with a 0.1 percent decline in April. Excluding volatile food and energy items, PPI is expected to rise 0.1 percent compared with a 0.2 percent increase the prior month.

Economists in a Reuters survey expect a 0.9 percent rise in production and a reading of 74.5 percent for capacity utilization.
