HOUSTON, July 2 (Reuters) - ConocoPhillips reported an upset in the gasoline-making fluid catalytic cracking unit at its 247,000 barrel-per-day (bpd) Sweeny, Texas, refinery during bad weather on Thursday, according to a filing Friday with Texas pollution regulators.
The filing with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality said opacity at FCC Unit 27 exceeded the opacity limit when water entered the motor generator housing during heavy rain. Electrostatic precipitators were shut down for five hours, and the unit feed was later reestablished, the filing said.
