HOUSTON, July 4 (Reuters) - Total Petrochemicals USA reported a malfunction in the gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit at its 232,000 barrel per day (bpd) Port Arthur, Texas, refinery on Sunday, according to a notice filed with Texas pollution regulators.
The malfunction triggered the refinery's safety flare according to the notice, which said the malfunction was in Unit 835. Total has identified Unit 835 in previous filings as the FCCU.
