HOUSTON, July 11 (Reuters) - Motiva Enterprises LLC on Sunday shut the waste-heat boiler on a gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit at its 285,000 barrel per day (bpd) Port Arthur, Texas, refinery, according to a notice filed with Texas pollution regulators.
The shutdown is to repair a tube leak in the boiler. If unrepaired, the tube leak could cause an unplanned shutdown of the FCCU, according to the notice filed with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
The repairs are scheduled to begin on Monday and the boiler will be out of service through at least July 19, according to the notice.
Motiva is a 50-50 joint venture between Saudi Aramco and Royal Dutch Shell Plc. Shell is the managing partner of the refineries.
