SAN FRANCISCO, Aug 2 (Reuters) - Hewlett-Packard Co said on Monday it has agreed in principle to a settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice related to a contract with the General Services Administration.
HP, the world's largest technology company by revenue, said it expects the settlement to hurt its fiscal third quarter results by 2 cents a share.
The company did not release any further details about the settlement. HP said it agreed to a settlement with the government without any admission of wrongdoing.
Shares of Palo Alto, California-based HP rose 6 cents in after-hours trade, after closing 3.3 percent higher at $47.56 in the regular session on the New York Stock Exchange.
