NEW YORK, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Hewlett-Packard Co is nearing a $1.5 billion deal to buy cybersecurity company ArcSight Inc, the Wall Street Journal reported on Sunday, citing people familiar with the matter.
A deal could be announced as soon as Monday, according to the report.
ArcSight shares closed at $35.10 on Friday. The company garnered interest from a number of large tech companies and had been seeking around $42 a share, the Journal reported.
HP and ArcSight were not immediately available for comment.
