PARIS, Sept 19 (Reuters) - France is preparing to trim its 2010 deficit forecast to 7.8 percent of gross domestic product, Le Figaro newspaper reported in its Monday edition.
The report comes after Budget Minister Francois Baroin said on Tuesday that the public deficit in the euro zone's second- largest economy would end the year below the current forecast of 8 percent.
The new forecast was drawn up ahead of a Cabinet discussion on the 2011 budget set for Sept. 29, the newspaper said.
It follows an upward revision in the 2010 growth forecast to 1.5 percent from 1.4 percent.
France has told European partners it will embark on a strong push to improve its public finances in 2011.
