* Says certain St. Jude products infringe 3 Volcano patents
* Also says 2 asserted St. Jude patents unenforceable
Sept 20 (Reuters) - Volcano Corp filed a counterclaim against St. Jude Medical Inc for patent infringement, and sought injunctive relief and monetary damages.
It said St. Jude's PressureWire products and RadiAnalyzer Xpress product -- to help guide stent placement -- infringed three Volcano patents.
St. Jude had filed a patent infringement suit against Volcano on July 27 involving five medical patents, seeking injunctive relief and monetary damages.
In a filing made Monday in a federal court in Delaware, Volcano denied allegations that its PrimeWire products, which are pressure guide wires, infringe any valid claim of St. Jude's asserted patents.
Volcano said two of the asserted St. Jude patents are unenforceable because they were obtained through acts of fraud.
Volcano's shares, which have risen nearly 11 percent since St. Jude filed the lawsuit, closed at $24.31 Monday on Nasdaq.
