PRINCETON, N.J., Sept 24 (Reuters) - Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said on Friday the U.S. central bank's balance sheet was 'quite secure' from a credit perspective since it was dominated by government-guaranteed securities.
'With the exception of a very small portion ... it's not toxic assets that we hold,' Bernanke said in answer to a question after delivering a speech at Princeton University.
'The Fed's balance sheet is actually quite secure from a credit perspective,' he said.
