CONAKRY, Nov 14 (Reuters) - Veteran Guinean opposition leader Alpha Conde has overtaken rival Cellou Dalein Diallo with 70 percent of the results announced from the Nov. 7 presidential run-off, according to a Reuters tally of officially released figures.
Conde now leads with 52 percent of the votes counted, according to the Reuters tally of results, the latest batch of which were announced by the election commission on Sunday evening.
The poll is meant to end nearly two years of military rule in the West African bauxite exporter but Diallo has pulled out of the vote-counting process and there are fears of violence after the final result is announced.
