DUBLIN, Nov 28 (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund expects the Irish government will succeed in winning approval for the 2011 budget next month, Ajai Chopra, deputy director of the european department of the IMF, said on Sunday.
'I'm confident that the government will pass the budget,' said Chopra, who led the IMF delegation that negotiated an 85-billion-euro bailout agreed on Sunday.
He said the IMF delegation had met opposition parties and believed they would support austerity measures that underpin the bailout. 'The public statements have indicated that they are on board with the overall objective of continued fiscal consolidation.'
