WASHINGTON, Feb 2 (Reuters) - The Federal Reserve's easy money policies have helped reduce debt service burdens and saved many small businesses from failure, Fed Governor Elizabeth Duke said on Wednesday.
'Numerous small businesses have told me they could not have survived this downturn without low rates,' she said in remarks prepared for delivery to students at the University of North Carolina's Kenan-Flagler business school.
Duke did not comment on the outlook for the economy or monetary policy in a speech on the structure of the Fed and her career path.
