March 9 (Reuters) - A panel of seven women and five men are
serving on the jury in the criminal insider trading trial of
hedge fund founder Raj Rajaratnam in New York.
The 12 jurors, plus six alternates, were selected on Wednesday from a pool of about 150 people. They will hear evidence in the case over the next two months. The following is some information about the 12 jurors, based on what they said in court in response to questions from the judge:
1. A 49-year
old woman who works for the Metropolitan Transit Authority.
2. A woman who once volunteered in the Israeli defense force.
3. A woman who likes to watch TV shows including 'True Blood' and 'Grey's Anatomy.'
4. A 49-year
old woman from Manhattan who works in food services for New York City's Board of Education.
5. A 61-year
old woman from Westchester County, New York who works as nurse.
6. A 53-year
old woman who lives in Westchester County and works for the New York City Board of Education.
7. A 68-year
old man who has lived in Manhattan for 10 years.
8. A 46-year
old woman from the Bronx who works in special education.
9. A 56-year
old man from the Bronx who works in graphics at Apple Inc.
10. A 48-year
old man who lives in the Bronx and works for New York City's child services department.
11. A 53-year
old woman from Westchester County who works at Verizon Communications Inc.
12. A 55-year
old man who works as an MTA customer service representative.
