April 4 (Reuters) - JA Solar Holdings Co said it will provide 400 megawatts of solar cells to contract manufacturer Jabil Circuit Inc and the companies agreed to collaborate on marketing JA Solar modules in the United States.
JA Solar, the world's largest maker of photovoltaic solar cells, also said it will supply certified module designs to Jabil for making up to 200 megawatts (MW) per year of modules under the two-year agreement.
The company said it will also grant Jabil the right to manufacture its portfolio of modules at Jabil's solar facilities, including those in Mexico, Poland and China.
Module production under the agreement may start by the third quarter, JA Solar said.
Shares of Shanghai-based JA Solar closed at $6.57 on Monday on Nasdaq. They rose 10 cents in extended trading. Shares of Jabil closed at $20.47 on the New York Stock Exchange.
