NEW YORK, April 7 (Reuters) - 'Jersey Shore' star Snooki is breaking out into her own television show along with two other housemates from the MTV reality series that made her a pop-culture heroine.
Snooki, 23, whose real name is Nicole Polizzi, will co-star in a spin-off with her 'Jersey Shore' partner-in-crime Jenni 'Jwoww' Farley. Scheduled to premiere next year, the untitled show will depict the pair doing what they are famous for -- cruising around looking for fun and love in an undisclosed vacation spot.
Their tattooed 'Jersey Shore' castmate, Paul Delvecchio, known to fans as 'Pauly D' and famed for his slick hairstyle, will also get his own series. It follows him on the road in his quest to be a successful DJ, and will also debut next year.
Both series will 'put the spotlight on their lives away from the shore as they pursue their individual passions, careers and relationships,' said MTV's head of production Chris Linn.
MTV ordered an initial 12 episodes of each show. All three castmates are staying with 'Jersey Shore' and will film their new series after production has wrapped on the fourth season of 'Jersey Shore,' MTV said.
'Jersey Shore' has been a top draw with viewers aged 12 to 34, an elusive demographic for which advertisers pay a premium to reach.
Polizzi, a pint-sized, tanning-bed afficionado who released a fiction book in January, has frequently made television audiences laugh as well as drop jaws in sheer wonderment, including being arrested for public drunkenness.
In January she told Reuters that any future doing her own TV show 'wouldn't be what everybody was expecting. I am all about real.'
