NEW YORK, May 18 (Reuters) - Private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co is in talks to buy German telecommunications company Versatel, a source familiar with the matter said on Wednesday.
The news was earlier reported by Dow Jones.
Versatel has a market capitalization of about $500 million and provides broadband telecommunications and IT services, according to Reuters data.
Versatel could not be reached for comment. KKR declined comment.
