WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Kroger Co. (KR) announced that, following the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's advice on Needle-Free Flu Vaccinations, the company immediately discontinued use of needle-free clinical devices to administer influenza vaccinations at all pharmacies and The Little Clinic locations.
The company said that the FDA issued new guidance that advised health care professionals not to use needle-free clinical devices to administer influenza vaccinations.
The Kroger family of pharmacies and The Little Clinic locations will continue to administer seasonal influenza vaccinations through traditional flu shots, the company said.
Kroger stated that it is seeking guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Food and Drug Administration regarding revaccinations.
