TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - Malaysia will on Friday release gross domestic product figures for the third quarter of 2011, highlighting a light day for Asian economic activity. Analysts are expecting GDP to expand 4.8 percent on year after adding 4.0 percent in the second quarter.
Japan will provide October numbers for department store sales, both nationwide and in the Tokyo region alone. National sales numbers were down 2.4 percent on year in September, while Tokyo sales declined 3.6 percent.
