WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Blue Coat Systems, Inc. (BCSI) reported GAAP net income for the second quarter of $4.6 million or $0.10 per share, compared to $12.0 million or $0.25 per share for the year-ago quarter.
Excluding items, non-GAAP net income for the second quarter was $9.3 million or $0.20 per share, compared to $18.1 million or $0.38 per share in the prior year quarter.
Total net revenue for the second quarter fell to $114.1 million from $121.0 million a year ago.
Analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.13 per share on revenue of $105.53 million for the second quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Looking forward to the third quarter, the company forecast net revenue of $113 million to $120 million, GAAP earnings of $0.05 to $0.13 per share and non-GAAP earnings of $0.19 to $0.26 per share.
Analysts currently expect the company to earn $0.15 per share on revenue of $108.16 million for the third quarter.
