TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - Malaysia is on Wednesday scheduled to release consumer price index numbers for both October and the third quarter of 2011, highlighting a modest day for Asian economic activity.
In October, the inflation rate is expected to come in at 3.3 percent - easing from 3.4 percent in September. For Q3, CPI is also called at 3.3 percent, down from 3.4 percent in the previous three months.
Singapore will also announce consumer price index numbers for October, with forecasts calling for an inflation rate of 5.2 percent - down from 5.5 percent in September.
Taiwan will provide October figures for commercial sales and industrial production. Sales are expected to rise 4 percent on year after adding 4.32 percent in September. Output is tipped to add an annual 2.5 percent following the 1.62 percent increase in the previous month.
Finally, the stock markets in Japan are closed on Wednesday for Labor and Thanksgiving Day. The markets will re-open on Thursday.
