CANBERA (dpa-AFX) - The Bank of Japan will on Thursday release its quarterly Tankan Survey monitoring business sentiment in the fourth quarter of 2011, setting the pace for a modest day in Asia-Pacific economic activity.
The large manufacturers' index is expected to fall to -2 from 2 in the third quarter, while the outlook is expected to fall to -3 from 4 in Q3. The non-manufacturers' index is called unchanged at 1, while the outlook is also expected to hold at 1. All-industry capex is expected to rise 2.5 percent, slowing from 3.0 percent in the third quarter.
Singapore will provide October figures for retail sales, which are expected to rise 1.2 percent on year and fall 1.2 percent on month. That follows the 0.1 percent annual decline and the 0.3 percent monthly increase in September.
Australia will announce November numbers for new motor vehicle sales. Sales saw an increase of 1.1 percent on month and 4.4 percent on year in October.
