NEW DELHI (dpa-AFX) - Japan is scheduled to release a batch of data on Monday, highlighting a modest day for Asia-Pacific economic activity. On tap are January figures for machine orders, as well as February indexes for consumer confidence and corporate goods prices.
Machine orders are expected to rise 2.0 percent on month and 3.2 percent on year after shedding 7.1 percent on month and climbing 6.3 percent on year in December. Corporate goods prices are tipped to rise 0.2 percent on month and 0.6 percent on year after easing 0.1 percent on month and adding 0.5 percent on year in January. The consumer confidence index saw a score of 40 in January.
Malaysia will provide January numbers for industrial production with analysts expecting an increase of 1.0 percent on year following the 3.0 percent advance in December.
India also will announce January data for industrial production, with forecasts suggesting an increase of 2.1 percent on year following the 1.8 percent increase in December.
