OMAHA (dpa-AFX) - Berkshire Hathaway Inc. (BRK-A, BRK-B) reported that its first-quarter net earnings attributable to shareholders jumped to $3.245 billion from $1.511 billion in the year ago quarter.
Operating earnings rose to $2.665 billion from $1.593 billion in the comparable quarter last year.
