PEKING (dpa-AFX) - Mindray Medical International Ltd. (MR) Monday reported an increase in profit for the second quarter, driven mainly by a double-digit growth in revenues.
The Shenzhen, China-based company's attributable net profit for the second quarter was $52.01 million or $0.44 per share, compared to $44.81 million or $0.37 per share last year.
Adjusted income for the quarter rose to $59.51 million or $0.50 per share from $49.84 million or $0.42 per share in the prior-year quarter.
On average, six analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.45 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Total revenues for the quarter grew 23.3 percent to $267.83 million from $217.28 million in the prior-year quarter. Six analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $258.71 million for the quarter.
