NEW YORK CITY (dpa-AFX) - Prudential Financial Inc. (PRU) is a leading bidder for Hartford Financial Services Group Inc.'s (HIG) individual life insurance business, Bloomberg reported, citing two people familiar with the matter.
The unit might be sold for about $1 billion, although any deal is still weeks away, the Bloomberg reported. Protective Life Corp. (PL) is among the other companies that showed interest in the division, the report said citing the people.
In July 2012, Hartford had announced that it agreed to sell Woodbury Financial Services to American International Group Inc. (AIG).
