WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Sigma Designs, Inc. (SIGM) Wednesday reported a narrower loss for the second quarter, due mainly to higher revenues.
Net loss for the quarter narrowed to $13.3 million or $0.40 per share from $22.0 million or $0.69 per share in the comparable quarter last year.
Adjusted loss for quarter was $4.1 million or $0.12 per share, narrower than $14.0 million or $0.44 per share in the prior year period. On average, four analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report a loss of $0.31 per share for the second quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
Second-quarter revenues rose 46% to $68.25 million from $46.69 million last year, while five analysts expected revenues of $65.04 million for the quarter.
