PEKING (dpa-AFX) - The Bank of Japan will on Friday release the Q4 results of its closely watched Tankan survey of business sentiment, highlighting a busy day for Asia-Pacific economic activity.
The large manufacturers' index is expected to fall to -10 from -3 in Q3, while the outlook is called at -9 from -3. The non-manufacturing index is expected to dip from 8 to 5, while the outlook is called steady at 5. Large all-industry capex is expected to rise 5.4 percent after showing 6.4 percent in the third quarter.
Japan also will see final October figures for industrial production, with little change expected from the preliminary reading that suggested an increase of 1.8 percent on month and a contraction of 4.3 percent on year. Capacity utilization was ay -5.5 percent.
China will see the December results for the HSBC flash manufacturing PMI; in November, the index was at 50.5.
Singapore will release October numbers for retail sales; in September, sales were down 0.5 percent on month and up 2.5 percent on year.
