WASHINGTON (dpa-AFX) - Michael Dell is likely to trim his portfolio by selling his corporate gardening company ValleyCrest to KKR-backed Brickman, The Financial Times reported. A deal, which is not certain, may fetch around $1 billion.
ValleyCrest is owned by MSD Capital, Dell's family investment office, which acquired it in 2007 for an unknown amount. It manages and designs gardens for companies such as Disney and AT&T.
The firm is America's largest corporate gardener by sales and generated $880 million in 2012. Brickman is the third largest with revenues of $821 million in 2012.
KKR bought Brickman last year for $1.6 billion. A sale will allow KKR to merge ValleyCrest with Brickman.
