NEWBURY (dpa-AFX) - Vodafone Group Plc. (VOD, VOD.L) said it has begun an audit into possible tax fraud at Spanish cable operator Grupo Corporativo Ono SA, which the UK-based telecom giant bought in July.
The investigation is related with value-added tax declarations that Ono made.
Vodafone agreed to buy Ono in March in a $9.1 billion deal that included debt. The deal added Internet and TV services across Europe.
Meanwhile, another report indicated that Vodafone may withhold bonuses for three managers of Ono tied to the acquisition.
VOD.L climbed 1.9 percent on Friday to settle at $200.50.
