TOKYO (dpa-AFX) - Japanese automaker Honda Motor Co's (HMC) expanded recall in the U.S. over explosive Takata Corp. -made air bags would impact an additional three million vehicles, the Wall Street Journal said Friday.
Recently Honda said it was widening its driver-side frontal air bag recalls that had been limited to certain southern states and U.S. territories with high humidity, the Journal said.
The expanded recall comes on top of the nearly seven million vehicles Honda has already recalled in the U.S. since 2008 over Takata air bags that can explode and shoot out metal shards at people, the Journal said. The issue is linked to five deaths in Honda-made cars, four of those in the U.S.
